About Jean Graver – Sustainability

At Jean Graver, we believe every garment deserves a second life.

Instead of producing new denim, we transform existing garments into unique, handcrafted pieces through upcycling. By extending the life of clothing, we help reduce textile waste and support a more circular fashion industry.

According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Bank, producing a new pair of jeans can require thousands of litres of water, depending on farming and manufacturing methods. Reusing existing garments helps reduce the demand for new textile production and its environmental impact.

Our approach is inspired by the principles of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, which promotes keeping clothing in use for longer through reuse, repair, remaking and recycling as part of a circular economy.

Every Jean Graver piece is individually redesigned, making each product one of a kind while giving existing denim a new purpose.
